"It's been awhile since I last
sent you an update on how Jade is doing
so I thought I would type an email. I've also attached
some recent
pictures. For the most part Jade is doing well She has
recently been losing her baby teeth but fortunately she
hasn't
developed a habit of chewing things she is not supposed to. Also I
think it is safe to say that she is now fully house broken. "
"
Chloe is doing great! She is settling in okay and
doing very well. She knows where her food and water bowls are. She
thinks every time i open the fridge she's going to get a carrot. She
sleeps real well through the night and is very playful in the morning.
She is so sweet and such a lap dog. She would be just as happy snuggled
in your lap all day. She has her own bed with lots of toys that she
loves to play with. It has been wonderful having her around. "
" Quick update. Storm is doing great. We
love him and he is adjusted better than I ever thought he would have. "
"What a dog! He is such a good companion, so easy going and gentle, although quite a handful when he wants his own way!"
"Karen and I got
Quincy from you almost 3 years ago. He is a terrific dog with a
wonderful temperament. We couldn't be happier."
re.
Sweet Melody (Murfie) We just wanted you to know what a
wonderful, loveable, sweet,Smart dog is Murfie. She had the bells ringing
constantly the first week she was home. She had only one accident since
she came home. She gets along great with everyone and everything
especially children. She already knows sit, stay, heel, and her
greatest accomplishment is poop before you play frisbie.
" We just
started our more serious training this week, and Korso is doing very
well. We only began to learn one new command, and brush up on his
sloppy sits and heeling. Now he will sit nice and properly almost all
the time, still needs me to tuck his butt into place on occasion. After
5 minutes, he clued into what 'watch' means (to look at you) and now
hes doing it perfectly. He will sit and stare at me easily for the 20
second hold. Soon he'll be doing it with distractions and on the heel
=) He is very clever (too clever) so its nice and easy to work with
him. "
"Our Dobe is doing great.
Murphie is now
about 70 lbs and very much a man's dog. She needs lots of
exercise and would
spend all of her time outside if someone [me] would stay out with her.
We have a fenced area that we leave her in for part of the day if we
can't stay out with her. She likes to be with us too. Very
comfortable in the van also. "
WOW!! The Tate has a
sniffer! She was the only dog that had done no tracking and you
wouldn't have known if I didn't say. She did 1 30m track to start
and she just skipped through it venturing no more than 2' off the track
and that was only at one point (with the help of chicken
wieners). Then she flew through a 40 m track without a
bobble. We did a slightly older 40m track and someone drove over it as we were walking up to
start but that didn't throw her. The problem is she spent too
much time searching at the wiener drops for more wiener. There
were only 4 drops but at each one she turned right around instead of
just picking it up on her way through. When she had turned
herself around and gone downwind off the track 90 degrees you could see
her waver about 5' off the track and then turn and run back to the
track, nose down. She was amazing. I am way too
excited. Hope she keeps this natural seeking up but we will
have to teach her to not search for more food (we have already spread
the drops further as she was skipping most of them) but more
importantly, we have to teach her that the glove at the end is exciting
enough to replace food as a goal when the time comes...but no hurry as
this is just the start. "
" Thank you again for a wonderful pup,
were all so happy, couldn't of asked for a better boy!
We'll keep in touch! "
" Hi Sue. So far so good. He is
going to be an amazing dog! He’s gentle and isn’t skittish at
all. We had a baby shower at our place on Saturday. We had
our babysitter take him and the kids out but they came back before
everyone had left and he took it in stride. We thought he’d get a
bit freaked out by so many people but he was fine. "
Trafic wasn't too bad
and we made it to Kingston by 5:30. What a good boy!
He was great. We stopped a couple of times so he could "take
care of business" and what can I say? He did great.
" Bella made it safe and sound, a
little scared! She sat on my lap all the way home and gave me
kisses. She finally fell asleep about 5 minutes before we were to
stop and was SNORING away! We surprised Cole and picked him up
from school-they were both so excited!!! Thank you again for everything, "
"WE HAD A GREAT TRIP HOME.
DIABLO WAS SO GOOD. WE STOPPED EVERY TIME HE WOKE UP, AND HE WENT
OUT FOR A PEE. I EXPECTED HIM TO HAVE AN ACCIDENT, BUT HE DIDNT.
(I ALMOST DID) :) LAST NIGHT IN THE MOTEL, HE ONLY HAD A COUPLE OF
ACCIDENTS, BUT ONCE HE FIGURED OUT WHAT WE WANTED HIM TO DO WHEN WE
TOOK HIM OUT, HE
WAS SO GREAT. HE DIDNT CRY MUCH, HE WIMPERED ONCE IN A WHILE, BUT
I WOULD JUST LAY ON THE FLOOR WITH HIM, AND HE WAS FINE. "
Dakota and Reba surely love
playing together. They just get along great. Dakota is doing well with
her house training. Yesterday she asked me to go outside which was the
second time. You just have to catch her at the right time and your
good. She only had one accident all day yesterday!!! And she makes it
through the night about 7 hrs. Your Right she is a sprawler!!! She
flops all over the bed at night. Its pretty funny.
"Hi things are going great. Zeus is
getting his new coat in and it's
amazing. His coat is a really nice deep red and shiny as h*ll. He is
travelling back and forth from house to house my best bud has a huge
back yard also so he's getting really socialized. Zeus is a
really big people dog he just loves to be around everyone. i can't wait
till he learns to bark when someone new comes around or someone knocks
at the door. Anyways when i get some new picks i will send them to
you.if your ever in the london area stop by to see him i think you'll
be really happy in how he's coming along. New numbers are xxx-xxxx home
xxxx-xxxx cell xxx-xxxx work. Thank you so much again for picking out
such a great dog for our family. "
"I've had a German Shepherd, a couple of
mutts, an Irish Setter, Dolly the Fox Terrier, and now Danny.
None has been so easy to manage, so easy to train to my ways, pleasing
without being demeaned by it. I found the German Shepherd too
devoted, and if Danny is devoted he does it without calling attention
to it. He can play on his own, and has a certain independence
which I quite like in dogs (something I loved in Dolly). But even
so he seems completely amenable to whatever I want of him. What a
dog! I know it is in large measure the breed, but it is also the
manner in which he was handled from Day One. Your attitude toward
your dogs, from much more experience with them than I have had, is much
like the attitude I have, I think. I like to observe them, to
educate them, try to enter their world. But I don't want them to
rule my world. I expect an accommodation from them. And
Danny does this superbly."
"Guinness
is great. We couldn't have asked for a better temperment. I take him to
the leash free park all the time . This park is the size of 6 football
fields and he can be playing will 4 or 5 other dogs about 120 m away
and when I call him he stops , listens , tries to figure out where I am
, and comes running. The first time he did this he was about 4.5 months
old and I called him just to see what would happen , I didn't really
expect him to hear me even, but he came running. Momo our other
dog (poodle shitzu laso cross) is like his little big brother. All
Guinness wants to do is be close to him, take his toys, bark at him to
play, and see what else he can get away with.
We love Guinness and are really happy
with him."
"Hi
Sue , we are the proud owners of
Decko. Just wanted to say he is doing well almost 4 years old now and
we also have a 10 month old baby girl that he totally adores. They are
great together she loves him and he loves her its funny watching them.
Hes so gentle with her and so protective too. My friend is thinking
about getting one and would like to know when you'll be having another
litter and the price. Thanks"
"Danny continues
to grow in every way -- in good sense
and attachment and grace, and of course in size! He is
definitely taller and heavier than when he was weighed nearly a month
ago (he weighed 70+ lbs). I'd say he is nearly 80 lbs. now, and a
little taller than 26" at the withers. Everyone who meets him
comments on how good-natured he is, and now when friends come for
dinner, after a warm greeting to them, he just lies down where we all
are or perhaps wanders in the garden, but is very well behaved."
"Hey Sue,
Sorry it's taken me a while to write back,
I wanted to get some recent pics to send you. Things are great and
Sophia is wonderful. She finished puppy training and is now in private
obedience training. The trainer saidshe was the most advanced dog her
age she had ever seen. She has just wowed everyone who meets her.
Everyone wants to know where we got such a beautiful dog, and her ears
are always complimented. So needless to say, we love her more than
anything. I attached a couple of recent pics for you. We've already
talked about maybe getting another from you at some point to give her
some company. She goes to daycare once a week, more to socialize her
than anything else...she loves playing with all the other dogs. How are
things up there?"
"Last July we
purchased
Jade from you. We have been
meaning to contact you and should have quite some time ago to let you
know how
things are going…..We cannot describe in words just how much we love
Jade
and what an amazing addition to our family she has made. Jade has
an
amazing personality and is just like a little kid…..she likes to be
spoiled and gets quite upset if she is not being paid attention
to. It
is
actually quite amusing…
The fear
that
I had for Dobermans has long surpassed.
It is hard to believe that I was terrified last year of this type of
dog…..I
can tell you my attitude definitely changed substantially.
We wanted
to
let you know that all is well and Jade has
adjusted extremely well to our family right from the moment we got
her.
It seems like we have had her since she was born, even though it has
only been
over a year We are very happy with Jade and cannot imagine our
family
without her
Thanks, "
"You
know, she is such a gorgeous young lady. She has received many,
many compliments on her appearance. A lot of people have never
seen a Red Doberman before. She is just one beautiful
Doberman. She has such an Aristrocratic stature about her. "
"Abby is just
doing wonderful, with this weather she
loves her back yard (almost an acre) to explore. Learning to walk
on lead. She sure is a carrier (anything she can steal) she has a
love for caps and shoes.""She looks very impressive. Tomorrow she goes to
the vets at 11 am for her shots. She is sooooo funny. What
a personality she is developing. "
" She has been a
blast so far. She is already house broken and gone two
days without an accident inside. She has learned, sit, shake a
paw,
lay down and were going to work on roll over and play dead soon.
She
has gone for a couple of walks. Believe it or not, she really
doesn't
like walks yet but when we go she heals and sits at every intersection
cross walk. She has no problems going into her kennel to sleep at
night. We are excited to see her grow and how smart she is going
to
get. We'll keep you updated. "
"
hi
Sue' Keesha is
perfect.I thanks for the awesome dog .
She is
sooooo sweet and loveable. "
"I just
want to tell you that our parents have fallen in love with Jade to, no
matter how scared or nervous they were of Dobermans before. She
has a wonderful personality and absolutely loves people, so how could
you not fall in love with a dog like that!! You do breed
wonderful animals! Thanks again Sue."
"Hey Sue
Boston and I are
doing great. His getting VERY big. We are in
Salmon Arm right now and I am taking a course to get my Master Trainer
Certificate. We are both in the class, and he is proving to be a
very
smart boy. Everyone loves him. You know, from some angles, he
looks
more red than black, a deep red like Bart. Its sort of
neat.
Hopefully I can get some pictures done and send them to you so you can
see him growing up. Thanks for everything "
"She
is so loveable though. Always cuddling when she isn't on the
run. Smart, smart, smart. She sits before crossing the
road. On the day after we got her, she knew when we walk on the
other side of the street, which house was hers on accross the road and
she wouldn't walk past the house, she would pull to cross the street
and run up the driveway."
"Billy just
walked in the door with Echo. He is
just perfect. Thank you so much He is very happy and was really
hungry. O.K. well I will keep you updated. Thanks again"
"We
love her (Rayne), and the kids still love Bo too. That was the
one thing I worried about, that Bo might be left out, but the kids
still play with him as much and love him up as well."
"We
named her Georgia, and she has settled into her new home wonderfully.
She sticks with us inside and out. No accidents in the house yet. She
has taken to the couch already. Thank you for all of the info, and
thank you for the beautiful dog."
"Just wanted to let you know he did well on
his trip.
Thanks he's beautiful "
"How are you?
Sorry I haven't updated you on Spirit in a long time.He is doing great.
What a wonderful dog he is. We love him so much. By now, of course, he
is totally housebroken and such a big boy. Really a great protector and
an incredible love with our daughter. She is always snuggling with him
and he loves it.
Your
pup on
the website with the cropped ears is gorgeous, absolutely Gorgeous."
"Everything
is going great! She's a spitfire---but I love
her! The ears are doing well. Its such a
beautiful crop! I am getting the hang of it and the dremel
for their nails. I never knew people did that. We
started puppy classes on Monday. They had us going through the tunnel
for agility--which she was going through on her own after the 2nd
time. We also put them over a board maybe 3 inches of the
ground that simulated the teeter totter. She hopped off of it
towards the front but did well. She seemed a bit bored but it was
great socialization! "
"I have had
multiple comments on Sierra from other
Doberman people. The gal that is helping me with ears is
COMPLETELY impressed by her and wanted to strangle me for spaying her
She's just overwhelmed by her quality. She has 2 females that she
is going to show and doesn't feel that they are as nice as Sierra
is. I have had nothing but wonderful compliments on her."
"Hi
Sue,It has been a while since we wrote to you. We
hope you still remember us (Sandra, Janusz & Homer). First of
all, Homer is well and he is an amazing dog. Homer is very happy, he
guards the house and even “controls” the air space above it (he chases
birds)."
"Delilah
Rose is well and happy! We have had a large horse corral on our
property fenced with small mesh fencing material so that she and
Princess can run and play. She is a good girl
even when having her nails clipped. She loves to have her ears
cleaned because she gets an ear massage with it. She has mastered
sit, down, stay, speak, heal and is now learning fetch. "
"Well,
again, I have to say thank you for all your advise and wisdom when I
first approached you about Dobermans in general. I can't say
enough about how my life has changed, how you made me take a good look
at my lifestyle, and the long run. Justice and I (and Loki of
course) are getting along just great, we have a couple of acres to play
in every day, my parents are close (they think Justice is theirs as
well), my nieces really look forward to coming and
playing,....wow.....I thank you helping me take a look at my harried
lifestyle, and getting me to realize that owning a dobe would require
time and commitment."
"Hey
Sue, We are doing
great.Zeus is really bonded with my wife and she really love him. He is
a totally different dog with her, real lovey, gentle and calm. He
is awesome and we love him very much."
"So
I haven't checked in for a while and thought I'd see how the babies
are. Maverick is sooooo awesome!!! He'll be trialing
soon..just taking my time making sure he enjoys it (and he does).
I've been thinking about getting another sometime..but I want one just
as good as he is. Could I get so lucky twice? I know your
dogs are awesome but he is just so "one of a kind" here in the
U.S. The Dobies here are ugly and have no drive."
"Zeus
is still doing very well, strong and healthy, still lot's of energy."
"Excellent!!
He really is a good little boy (even though he is a land shark).
He gets along great with everyone and every animal he meets. He
gives Nanny's old 19lb. cat kisses on a regular basis!! My family is
obsessed with him!! He gets more presents now than I do. His toy
box is filled to the brim!"
"SHE'S
WONDERFUL!!! I absolutely adore her! She's so sweet."
"WELL I HAVE SOME
WONDERFUL NEWS. I JUST GOT MAVERICK'S HIPS X-RAYED AND WE CAME
BACK WITH AN EXCELLENT!! I'LL SEND YOU A NICE RECENT PICTURE OF
HIM FOR YOU SOON"
"Willow
is doing well and seems to be happy. He can be quite a puppy when we
play! He loves having his chest and his neck rubbed. He also seems to
enjoy when I use the mitt to rub his body instead of the brush. I think
he is a good match for us and we are having a great time with him."
" Hi
Sue, Thanks for the info. I thought I'd let you know how things went
night #1.The ride home was great and the evening went well too. He's
definitely Al's dog. He's always happy to see us when we get home. So
like I said...so far so good. He's young and very playful. Anyway, he
sure is loved."
